While PNG was heaving with activities and celebrations for the country’s 50th anniversary of independence celebrations, tiny souls in hospitals and children’s homes around the country were looking forward to an opportunity to celebrate this never-before moment. Mr. Aho Baliki, MD of Moni Plus, decided to bring a smile to these kids' faces by bringing gift hampers for them and their parents to cherish and remember. Nurses and caretakers were also included in the celebrations, receiving hampers to bring home. Moni Plus had very limited time to execute this mammoth project, given that it needed the approval of all provincial hospital CEOs and coordination with the supermarkets, and the hampers needed to be packed and delivered in time for the big day. Lastly, the project had to receive the approval of the Executive Management team. Our staff and management team took time to visit various hospitals in Port Moresby, Lae, Alotau, Kokopo, Hagen and Goroka, and to give our food hampers filled with daily necessities. Smiles were noticeable on the faces of the young children on their sick beds, and there were smiles on the faces of their parents and guardians too.
